Description
Sunset at the Anderson Hollow Lighthouse, which stands by the mouth of the Shepody River, where it runs into the Bay of Fundy.
Built in 1903, this decommissioned lighthouse has been moved several times in the past century, having been originally at Waterside Beach. Storms and hurricanes had damaged or destroyed the lighthouse a few times, before it was replaced with a fixed constant light at the end of a wharf.
The lighthouse was moved up from the beach in 1949, then moved again into Riverside-Albert during the 1980's. In 2001, it was moved to its current home, in the Shipyards Park, across from the Shepody dam. I say "current", rather than "final", because at this point, who can say where it may travel to in the future!
